Our Mission
Arizona Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) for Equity is a state-wide organization striving for equity and justice by building power through community directed organizing, increasing civic engagement, and empowering young leaders.
Why Become A Member?
We work to redefine traditional membership and invite people from different communities, backgrounds, and conditions to take collective action to achieve change we want to see in our state. Anyone who wants to engage with their community should be able to, with zero restrictions.
Build community with us!
100% of your membership funds go to helping our We Imagine Safety (WIS) members overcome barriers like homelessness, medical debt, and legal challenges.
As a member, you’ll have:
- Monthly engagement opportunities (political education from our youth, field trips to local gardens and museums, group hikes, etc.)
- Opportunities to attend and contribute to our pillars programs: Climate Justice, Youth Leadership, We Imagine Safety, Immigration, Civic Engagement.
- Our support with advocating for programs and activities YOU want to see in your community
Join today and receive our official welcome package!
Welcome Orientations: Our membership orientations take place 3 times a year in January, May, and September (specific dates and times will be announced prior). You’ll get to:
- Connect with our staff and other members in person
- Ground yourself with political education from the AANHPI perspective
- Learn what we’ve accomplished & how YOU can help us achieve future goals
Our struggles are connected, and we hope you will continue to fight with us to ensure the safety, power, and liberation of our marginalized communities!
We welcome ALL members, regardless of donation amount.
Although membership commitments are outlined here in monetary terms, we certainly welcome folks who cannot contribute monetarily to become members by taking action with our organization through volunteering, advocacy, and leadership opportunities. Folks who are houseless, unemployed, or formerly incarcerated will not have to pay any commitments.
We believe that anyone who wants to engage with their community should be able to, with zero restrictions. If you are currently unable to contribute financially, please sign-up to be a member still. No one will be turned away from membership for the inability to pay. However, if you are able to pledge a one-time or monthly donation commitment, we deeply appreciate you as all proceeds go towards our We Imagine Safety Mutual Aid Fund.
Through our We Imagine Safety Mutual Aid, we’ve helped dozens of community members with various requests, including rent payments to avoid eviction, court and legal fees, distributing food and water and much more. We believe in community, and if you are able to, consider donating to provide direct relief to YOUR community members that are in need.
No one will be turned away from membership for the inability to pay– please reach out to us at shamel@aanhpi.org if you are interested in becoming a member without a financial contribution.
